Written by local historian John Quinn and illustrated by a series of oil paintings by the Navan-based artist Gerry Flaherty, the focus of this volume is County Meath, a county of contrasts.  Author John Quinn introduces the reader to the county with a short background history of Meath, before he and artist Gerry Flaherty combine to showcase the best scenes in the Meath area, from Tara and Trim through Navan and Slane before stopping off in Ledwidge country and heading out east. Kells plays its part, as do football, racing and legends and mysteries. John completes the book with the story of Meath through the ages.
