Default The Cambridgeshire Fens book

We are delighted forward to welcome The Cambridgeshire Fens, Landscapes and Legends on to our bookshelves here at Cottage Publications. Written by author and journalist Trevor Bevis, and illustrated with 30 stunning watercolour paintings by Malcolm Allen, the Cambridgeshire Fens is a splendid snapshot of what makes this area tick.

The Cambridgeshire Fens, Landscapes and Legends is a book which depicts the stunning big skies and describes the history which defines the area. The book begins with a brief overview of drainage in the area, before Trevor and Malcolm explore the towns and countryside of the Cambridgeshire Fens, stopping off at, amongst others, Wisbech, Chatteris and March, with further examinations of such diverse topics as at the agriculture of the area, churches and Oliver Cromwell. Trevor completes the book by looking at the Fens through the ages, with the impact of the introduction of the railway, before rounding things off by describing three famous Fenmen.
